I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at BNP Paribas (Chennai) in Oct 2018
Interview
The concepts that you never use in day-to-day basis is what they ask you in the name of level 1 interview. I really don't know even if someone from their own team would answer if asked all of a sudden. The interviewer had a set of answers in their mind and would say wrong to whatever approach you suggest, one of the amazing things the interviewer said was "You cannot use a column in 'ORDER BY' if the column is not used in the 'SELECT' statement". Overall, the worst ever interview experience in my career.
Please send someone who can actually thinks thru the candidate's answer before arriving at a conclusion.

I applied online. I interviewed at BNP Paribas (Dublin, Dublin) in May 2026
Interview
Applied online, heard back in about two weeks. Process was three rounds: HR phone screen, a technical/case interview, then a panel with two managers.
Overall a positive experience. Interviewers were professional and well prepared. First call was straightforward — motivation, why BNP, why this team. Second round had a market/risk case and some CV deep-dives; they push on details so know your numbers. Final panel was more behavioral, with a few curveballs on how you handle pressure.
Pace was a bit slow between stages and communication could've been quicker, but recruiter was responsive when chased.

Question 1
Why BNP Paribas over competitors? Walk me through a time you managed conflicting deadlines. How would you assess risk on X?
