I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Bain & Company in Feb 2013
Interview
Bain was very friendly and professional throughout the application process. Went to on-campus info session and coffee chat before submitting my resume and cover letter. After I was notified of the first-round interview, I prepared using typical casing resources. The first round was 2 half-hour interviews, both half-fit and half-case. The fit was pretty basic and the cases were easier than those in competitors' first round interviews — basic strategy and market sizing. Didn't get the position, but not too surprised as I never felt like much of a personality fit with the company.
two rounds of case interviews, candidate-led, tackling a real client problem through a structured, hypothesis-driven framework. need to balance analytical rigor with a collaborative, team-oriented approach, focusing on delivering clear, actionable, and insightful recommendations
It was a straightforward process with two 30-minute interviews. It started with introductions and then the cases; you can have some time at the end for questions. The interviewers are helpful so you can ask clarifying questions.
