I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at BlackRock (Edinburgh, Scotland) in Aug 2017
Interview
1st Interview - very informal , VP lead the chat through resume and asked some competency based questions. Analyst took notes - both very pleasant.
2 weeks later - HR offered me a different job - I said I would rather wait to hear back from the 1st.
The following day I was invited to 2nd interview with Director and VP. They told me it would last 30 minutes, it lasted 20. Very informal , chatted over CV - said I would hear in couple days.
I chased recruiter on a weekly basis for an update and they gave ever excuse you could think of. 3 weeks later I got the response that they went with someone else. They blamed the delay on holiday season.
First interview with direct reporting manager, followed by BD and portfolio managers. total 5-6 rounds. 30mins each.
The entire process is quite long, ie after each interview it took around a week for HR to come back and schedule another.

Mostly related to the past experience, what did I do, how do I like it etc
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at BlackRock (Luxembourg) in Apr 2026
Interview
Interview process went pretty fast
- email from HR to confirm salary expectations, desire to leave current employer
- 1st interview with hiring manager of 30 min
- 2nd and 3rd interview with Directors of 30min each
- 4th additional interview with another Director of 45min
Always in contact with HR and organisation of meeting was easy and pretty straightforward. Interviews themselves were also pretty chill and normal interview questions.
