I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at BlackRock in Feb 2010
Interview
Interviewed for Summer Analyst position in BlackRock Solutions. Interview was mostly math, computer science and probability. They had a very good approach: ask about the candidate's background and make sure he/she can talk cogently about all the math + computer science that was listen on the resume.
The first round interview consisted of 1 interview with a Director on campus. I was invited back for a Superday which was 5 interviews back to back - 2VPs, 2 Analysts and 1 Directory.
I got the impression that it was a great firm and people were very excited to be there.
HireVue then 3 part superday. All interviews were a mix of technical and behavioral but mostly behavioral and market-based. Interviews were over a 4 hour period and with employees from different offices
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about your internship experience and why it sets you up for this role
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at BlackRock (New York, NY) in Jun 2026
Interview
The Hirevue questions were all behavioral, no tell me about yourself or why blackrock. Questions were pretty simple. Prepare a financial news story you are following because they will ask you that.
Hireview is preparation and then one time recording, which is from memory 3 minutes long. There was only 3 questions for me and most of it related to the role instead of purely just asking why blackrock or why this role.
