I applied for the AEM Developer position at Bounteous through naukri. The overall process took about 2–3 weeks and consisted of multiple rounds.
1. Initial HR Screening:
The HR round started with a short introduction and basic questions about my background, current CTC, expected salary, and notice period. They also asked about my experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), including components, templates, workflows, and integrations.
2. Technical Round 1:
This round was taken by an AEM senior developer. It was focused mainly on AEM fundamentals and hands-on knowledge. Questions included:
Difference between editable and static templates
Sling models and their annotations
OSGi configurations and services
Dispatcher caching rules
How to integrate AEM with third-party APIs
Troubleshooting AEM performance issues.
They also asked scenario-based questions like how I would implement a custom workflow in AEM.
3. Technical Round 2 (Practical / Deep Dive):
This was more detailed and included coding-based and architecture-level questions. Topics included:
Creating custom components using HTL and Sling Models
Servlet implementation and filters
AEM as a Cloud Service differences.
Maven build structure and deployment process.
4. Managerial / HR Final Round:
This was more of a discussion about project experience, teamwork, and communication skills. They also discussed how I handle deadlines and client requirements. HR explained the company culture, growth opportunities, and project types at Bounteous.

They asked me to explain how I would integrate a third-party REST API with AEM using Sling Models and OSGi services. They wanted to know the complete flow — from creating the service to consuming it in a component, handling the JSON response, and managing caching or error handling in AEM.
