      Customer Success/Training Interview

      Aug 3, 2013
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Box

      Interview

Got referred by an old co-worker who now works there. Was contacted a few days later for a phone screen that was fairly standard as far as these things go (it ran short, so don't assume that is a bad sign. Box is just very efficient). Later that same day I was scheduled for a 30 minute phone meeting with the hiring manager, which was mostly trying to get a sense of how I approached training and whether I could deal with a rapidly growing department. The next day I was asked to come in for four back to back 1:1 interviews. Mostly,I got the impression that they were trying to determine fit- which is very important to them for obvious reasons. Most of the questions weren't too difficult, but you should be ready to show them that you have big, original ideas about how to contribute to the company. They aren't looking for someone who can just do the job description. It became very clear early on that they wanted someone who could go far above and beyond that job description. After that, I was assigned a pretty challenging demo, and I had additional meetings with two higher ups. All in all, it was a very positive experience, but be ready to really prove yourself. And do your homework. If any of this seems like too much work, this isn't the place for you. For what it is worth, the interview process- and all of the amazing people I met during it- sold me on Box.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

How would you implement an educational program in a multinational, multilingual company? (Note that this was only tangentially related to my job description- be ready for big picture thinking!)
