I got a LinkedIn message from a recruiter about a local contract-to-hire opportunity that they were trying to fill. I scheduled an initial phone call to get more information about the opportunity and to give more information about myself. The recruiter emailed me 2-3 different positions to consider at the local company. After responding promptly with my thoughts, I did not hear back from the recruiter for a week+ and required another follow-up email. After finally getting a response, we scheduled another phone call to talk through these opportunities. During the second phone call, the recruiter said she had another 2-3 job descriptions for me to consider, and we talked through the original batch. We scheduled a video call to be able to talk face-to-face, and further discuss these jobs and get to know each other better. During the video conversation, we discussed the jobs that I was sent, which seemed to fit me best, and any other questions I had about the process. After the video call, the recruiter was to talk with her supervisor about the plan moving forward, and with the company to understand exactly what they were looking for. The video call was on a Monday, and I was to hear back by the end of the week. I waited two weeks after not hearing from the recruiter before sending a follow-up email. I never heard anything back from the recruiter and was ultimately ghosted by the recruiter. All of our conversations were positive, and there was no indication that I wouldn't hear back or that there was no interest. I never got an opportunity to speak directly with the company Brooksource was working with to fill positions. Frustrating to be completely ghosted and left in limbo after a handful of piitive conversations.
