Interview
Very easy and friendly interview over teams. Discussed past experiences and what career goals are. Then was asked some Behavioural questions and questions such as Why do you want to work here, and what sort of experience you are looking for.
Very quick and streamlined process.
Received a request for an interview the day after submitting my application. Went in person to meet one of the owners. We went through my resume and portfolio, which went very well. I was asked to do a design challenge as a next step.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at BuzzBuzzHome (Toronto, ON) in Feb 2020
Interview
Extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. Got offered a job and then ghosted.
Started with a phone interview with Ryan. Seemed like a nice guy and he gave a good first impression of the company.
In person interview started 30 minutes late because of a mix-up on their end, which was fine. The interview was more of them telling me what I’ll be doing and telling me all the reasons why it’s great to work there.
A week later after they checked my references and called and said they were very impressed and really wanted me to work there, but, and this is a big but, the job I applied for no longer existed and they offered me a different job with a lower salary range 40-45k vs the 50-60k. (Classic bait and switch).
They continued to say they really wanted me to work there. So, I asked if they could meet me half way at 50k. They said they’ll talk to the team and get back to me either way in the evening or the next day the latest.
The evening passes, the next day passes. On the 3rd day I sent an email for any updates on their end, no reply. I called a week later and left a message, again no reply. To my surprise I was being ghosted. This was all way before covid-19 started to happen, so no excuses there.
Note the the Buzzbuzzhome team: ghosting is extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. I really hope you can learn not treat candidates like this. It's a waste of everyone's time and energy (your time, my time, and my references time). It takes two seconds to call back or email and give an update either way, especially considering you offered me the job.
