Extremely professional HR team. They assigned me a task to assess my skills. I also received a feedback, which I honestly didn't expect, and I really appreciate it - it helped me understand what went well and what I can work on in the future.
- They asked about my experience, mainly.

First of all, they asked me to take a skill test so they can see if I have the knowledge that is necessary for the job. I test was average as is comes to difficulty, I passed it. After that I took two interviews that were online and they were very friendly and the atmosphere was casual.
- What are my qualifications for the job?

The first stage was a task and I had a lot of fun with it. The description was clear so I did not have any additional questions about it. It has been a couple of weeks before the company contacted me and set the date for the first interview. After a few days I was invited to the second interview. Overall the people interviewing were friendly and asked a lot of interesting questions. The second interview was more focused on the actual task for the position.
- What are your favorite games
- Describe your role in previous position

They give you a huge test task (3 beefy assignments) with a deadline that is unrealistic for people who have full time jobs (less than one week) I made a significant effort to reorganize my schedule just to be able to get the task done on time. Yet after asking so much effort from candidates in the initial stage, they don't even provide basic feedback on your test. You just get a generic rejection letter. That's really not cool. If they are going to ask for this much work right out of the gate, they should at least offer some basic feedback on the candidates' assignments.
- Test task has 3 assignments

I applied -- and was emailed back to write a C++ assessment, -- No phone call. C++ assessment, was a small project to do... and I spent 3 days writing it. -- And I wrote test cases to ensure that all of my code was performing correctly. And I'm quite positive I did it all correctly. -- After submitting assessment, -- recruiting / project red cd never contacted me back -- nor replied to any of my messages about what was going on. AKA they completely wasted my time.
- C++ Assessment given to me by email

After submitting the application, I received an answer within a week. I liked everything. Good people, nice, fun and pleasant atmosphere, I didn't feel pressured. After the interview, they contacted me the next day and informed me that I had passed.
- Basic questions about my speciality, experience and about me personally.

In 2008 applied for the job, there was 2- step process (2 conversations + a simple test). Few technical questions, another few regarding former experience. Rather easy ones. Ultimately, I got this job.
- - Former experience. - Technical questions regarding pipeline. - Technical questions regarding optimalisation. - Experience with tools, etc.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at CD PROJEKT RED in Sep 2022
Interviewed at The Molasses Flood for their new Witcher game after responding to a recruiter. Initial design screening went decently well, though highly disorganized. Mostly just discussed the project and role, with some basic questions about my experiences and proficiencies. This was followed by a 3.5 hour series of panels. All of them were relatively straightforward, based on the questions asked and my answers, it was quite clear I had experience doing everything they were looking for. The few rough spots in one or two interviews had to do with me explaining aspects of my most recent role and project that were highly unideal, and I assume those are held against me as a candidate as though me doing the best work possible in unideal situations (when I can also easily explain what more ideal processes would look like) means I'm *bad* at my job rather than the opposite. But that's how basically every team I interview with ends up making me feel. I was rejected without any feedback, but I can easily assume that it was because my most recent project didn't ship and they don't feel confident that I could do everything we discussed because there's not proof of a finished project. The irony is what I had made in the last two years is probably more polished and extensive than the low-scope indie game they're making, but I can't easily prove that, so just add it to the pile of rejections I've gotten because a shipped game means more than talent or expertise.
- Questions about implementation experience and basic comprehension of game design across similar genres.

I was applying two times. Each time it took ages to get a reply for any email. But people are very nice as soon as you meet them in person.
- Regular questions about ambitions, working style and problem solving skills.

The whole process took around 5-6 weeks. There was a couple of interviews with a task to complete (within 7 days). The interview athmosphere was friendly but it also had a few difficult questions. The task wasn't very and it was clearly described.
- Describe the process of completing a task and what tools did you use.
