I had an initial phone screening with a recruiter which went well and I went on to a video interview with a member of management. The interview lasted over an hour and I felt like it went really well. My experience lined up perfectly with everything we discussed during the interview. The manager I interviewed with let me know that she would send the interview over to the management team I would be working under and that it typically takes a couple of weeks to make a decision, but she assured me that I would hear back from them regardless if I was offered the position or not.
Over 3 weeks went by and I hadn't heard anything. I was assuming it was delayed due to the holidays, but 3 weeks when you're looking for a new job is a long time. I reached out to my recruiter who conducted the initial phone screening to ask for a follow up. My recruiter told me that CVS Health has decided this was no longer a position they were wanting to fill at this time - he said I was not being rejected and they didn't pick someone else, they simply decided they no longer have a current need for this role. Since the recruiter told me that, CVS Health has posted an opening for that exact role several times. I have attempted to call the recruiter to inquire about that when I was just told the opposite, and he no longer responds to my calls.
The experience left me feeling incredibly disrespected. I studied and prepared harder for this interview than any other interview I've ever had and for CVS to just ghost me and disregard me after wasting my time was a slap in the face. This was time thrown away that I could have been in contact with a company that is serious about hiring experienced employees.
