Position: [Job Title]
Interview Process: L1 + L2 Technical Round
Company: Capgemini
I recently interviewed for a position at Capgemini, and unfortunately, my experience was less than ideal. Here's a breakdown of my experience:
Interview Process:
L1 Discussion: The first round was fairly standard, a general discussion of my background and skills. No major issues here, but it was a basic interview that didn’t provide much insight into the role or team.
L2 Technical Round: The second round was supposed to be the more technical one. However, this round was incredibly frustrating. The interviewer joined the call late and immediately started pretending she couldn’t hear or see me, which made the situation awkward. I proceeded to speak for 7 minutes, explaining my technical experience and answering the questions, only to be told after I finished that she "couldn’t hear anything." I had to bring in the HR representative, who confirmed that she could, in fact, hear and see me just fine. This created unnecessary confusion and left me questioning the professionalism of the process.
Despite clearing this round, the HR representative told me that the interviewer believed my experience was not enough for the role, even though I have experience in the field. What’s more disappointing is that the offer extended was significantly lower than my current salary—something that didn’t make sense given my background.
Additionally, the interviewer raised concerns about the location I wanted to work from, despite the fact that I’ve previously worked with Capgemini. This, combined with the technical issues, made it feel like a bad experience from start to finish.
Overall Thoughts:
I have worked with Capgemini in the past, but it’s clear that the company culture and recruitment process have shifted for the worse. The lack of respect for candidates’ time and the inconsistency in the interview process were major red flags. Not to mention, offering a salary lower than my current one for a more senior role is disappointing. I’m really not sure what’s going on at Capgemini now, but I can confidently say that this was not an experience I would recommend to anyone.
Rating: ★★☆☆☆
Pros:
HR representative was helpful and responsive.
Cons:
Unprofessional interview process with technical issues.
Disrespectful and unclear feedback from the interviewer.
Salary offer below current compensation.
Discriminatory stance on location preferences.
Would not recommend based on my experience.
