      Technology DevelopmentSoftware Engineering Interview

      Oct 28, 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Washington, DC
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Capital One (Washington, DC) in Oct 2016

      Interview

Flown out to DC offices after sending a resume. Lunch with employees in Tech department then 3 rounds of 45 minute 1-on-1 interviews: behavioral, case, technical. Behavioral was standard STAR format. Case was not a typical "business" case as I was expecting but oriented in a technological fashion (had to do with making decisions on how to develop and implement a certain tool at Capital One). Technical interview was typical, 3 questions pretty much straight out of Cracking the Coding Interview. Would highly recommend the book to anyone seeking any type of software position.
