I applied online. I interviewed at Capital One in Mar 2021
Interview
Initial recruiter phone screen (around 20 mins)
Then had four virtual interviews - two business case interviews, one product interview and one "fit" interview.
All of the interviewers I met were beyond nice and professional. They were all properly trained and gave clear instructions at the beginning of each interview. I also love that they didn't require any take-home task so didn't need to spend extra hours to do that.
- Two case studies were more numerical than traditional consulting cases. The recruiter shared an example case before the interview. Remember to take notes and communicate well with the interviewer all your calculations step by step along with your thought process.
- Product interview was all about creative thinking, strategic analysis, communications and planning. This one is almost impossible to prepare for but I'd encourage to watch product interview videos online to get a sense if you never did a product interview before
- For the fit interview, just make sure you read the JD and research the company product/vision.

Question 1
Give 10 ways to improve pillows as a product (think outside the box!)
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One (London, England) in Feb 2020
Interview
Initial phone screen. First round case interview, 1-hour, in-person. Second round three back-to-back-to-back interviews, 1-hour each, in-person. These varied between case, product, and behavioural. The case interviews are not standardised, even though HR supplies candidates with preparation materials to purportedly know what to expect. The interviewer style varied greatly from one round to the next, and whether or not you need to push through sections or allow the interviewer to guide was unclear. Even though the outcome was apparently known the day of the interview, HR waited 3+ weeks to share an offer decision. Feedback was not actionable, not very helpful, and somewhat contradicted what my experience was in the interviews. I was told the final decision hinged on a "feeling", not any measurable performance.
