I applied in-person. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at CarMax (Fresno, CA) in May 2010
Interview
I walked in my resume and a few weeks later I recieved a call from the service manager saying there was a job opening in the service dept. I wasnt quite sure what the job was for, but urged to fill it out online. I did, which took a long time. I then got a call, seemed to be a pre-sreen call, which at that time I was given an appointment for live interview that would take two hours. The interview took at least that. I had to complete some more applications online after I got there, which asked all kinds of questions regarding your past employers, personal information... they want you to be honest. They do an extensive background check, incl. previous employers and even a credit check. After completing that, I had a mini interview with the office manager, it seemed basic, then I waited for a second person to come interview me, which took a long while before he (the operations manager) came to in to interview me. I think it was a strike aginst me when I asked how much longer the interview process was going to take (only because I had another appt. scheduled), he said we could do this later... I assured him I was okay with finishing but would have to call my next appt. to let them know I would have reschedule. He only asked me two questions, and although he was very nice, I got the feeling I blew it. He let me know I'd be notified by mail in a few weeks if I got the job. I got a letter saying my although my background check was immaculate and thanked me for my time but had chosen someone else for the positions.
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at CarMax (Las Vegas, NV) in Jan 2008
Interview
Interview process is very easy, Apply online take the questionare (very important) they call you to come in if you pass the questionare. When you come in you take another questionare and then get interviewed, from my expirience if you dont leave with a job after you second interview you didnt get hired
