I interviewed for an AE role at Cherry and had a very strange experience. The head of the AE team for the vet section was extremely nice throughout the process, and after five interviews I made it to the final round. He then called me and explained there was a hiring freeze until the beginning of April, but assured me I would be the first person he contacted once hiring resumed.
When I followed up in early April, I never received a response. Being ghosted after investing that much time in the interview process felt very unprofessional, especially after being told I was a top candidate.
I also found the interview process unusual. Most of the questions focused on my high school and college experiences rather than my actual sales experience and professional accomplishments. For an AE role, I expected much more discussion around sales performance, deal cycles, and relevant work experience.
The compensation also seemed low for an AE position. Overall, the process left me with concerns about the company's professionalism and communication. Based on my experience, I would be cautious about interviewing here.
