Miscommunication in Role – Wasted Interview Time
Pros:
Quick scheduling and follow-up.
Interview was conducted on time with a polite interviewer.
Cons:
Major role mismatch – The position discussed during the interview had nothing to do with the job role I applied for (Software Engineer – Integration/API).
No clear explanation of the role before scheduling.
HR did not provide role responsibilities or expectations ahead of the call.
Interview was abruptly cut short after the mismatch, which was unprofessional and disappointing.
Advice to Management:
Please ensure recruiters communicate the exact role, team expectations, and skill alignment before scheduling interviews.
It’s frustrating for candidates to prepare and show up for roles they never applied for.
Transparency during the initial screening would avoid wasting both candidate and interviewer time.
