      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at College Board (New York, NY) in Feb 2022

      Interview

I received an email from the internal HR recruiter to set up a phone interview. I set up a time on her calendar and received a confirmation email. She did not show up to the interview. I emailed 5 minutes in and no response until the next day. She apologized saying that she was out of office the day of my interview. No big deal, I thought (in the back of my mind thinking: "how do you just take off and not cancel/reschedule your appointments?"). I booked another interview. Again, she did not show up. This time she emailed me 20 minutes before the interview saying she was double-booked and that she needed to reschedule. She asked for my availability. I told her to send me the link to her calendar so I could book another time. She never responded to that email. I found the link to her calendar and booked another time. I got an automatically-generated confirmation. She again did not show up to the interview. I scheduled another one. Still, another no-show. No responses to any emails. No respect given. Complete waste of time and I feel powerless because there's nothing I can do about this. And I really wanted to work at the College Board! I interviewed with the College Board a few years ago and got to the final round interview. Nothing about that process was particularly bad; I felt respected the whole time through and thought that all interviewers acted in good faith. I didn't get an offer, but I also didn't feel screwed over or that my time was wasted. This time, however, was different. Strangely, I'm super-qualified for the position and would likely have progressed far in the interview process. But I guess we'll never know now. I don't have a beef with College Board but rather with this particular HR recruiter (unfortunately I can't use her name in this review) and the fact that she doesn't show up to interviews or send emails back. I wonder: how does this person have a job? Horrific, frustrating experience.

They were very attentive and supportive throughout the process. I enjoyed the clear communication and the interviews themselves were welcoming and not too abrasive. The questions they asked were expected and they didn't try to trick you.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at College Board (New York, NY) in Apr 2026

      Interview

The interview process was extensive and included multiple rounds of interviews, a written exercise, a panel interview, a senior leadership interview, and professional reference checks. While the interview team was professional and provided thoughtful feedback, I was disappointed that reference checks were requested and completed before a final hiring decision was made. Reference checks require time and effort from professional contacts, and many candidates may reasonably interpret that stage as indicating they are under final consideration for an offer. Candidates should be prepared for a significant investment of time throughout the process, including the completion of a written exercise and multiple interview rounds. One positive aspect of the experience was receiving detailed and constructive feedback after the decision, which is not always common in hiring processes.

      Interview

Straight forward and informative. Good process with feedback and follow through. Many different rounds. The whole process was about 2 months with traditional HR initial screening. I was required to meet with panel and demonstrate knowledge of the subject matter in question. Everyone was both polite and professional.
