I have prior PR experience in the call center / data center sector and applied online. I was contacted for a virtual interview within 48 hours.
My interview was set for the following week. Before that took place, I was notified that I was already being advanced to the next stage of interviews based on my background and prior experience. A second virtual interview interview was scheduled two days after the first.
The first interview took place and seemed to go well. The interviewer for my second meeting joined the call 10 minutes late, just as I was about to end the session. It too was a pretty basic interview except for one question (see below) completely out of left field which threw me off a bit. I was told that they asked offbeat questions to very experienced candidates. Other than that, both interviews were very straight-forward.
I sent separate thank-you notes to both interviewers with a few related work samples. I was, however, completely ghosted and never heard back from either interviewer. Nor did their HR rep reach out with any updates. It was a complete turnoff since both interviewers very heavily stressed the company's value system and its respect for employees.
They immediately reposted the job so I obviously wasn't getting hired. They kept posting the job for two months and several recruiters also posted it. Not sure if they were serious about actually hiring someone or if they were simply looking for the infamous "purple squirrel" candidate.
