      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Con Edison (Bronx, NY) in Jan 2018

      Interview

I took an aptitude test to get a chance to interview for the position at the Long Island City Coned Facility. Test was timed and it was split into different sections. I passed it and was informed that I would get called for an interview as the next step of the hiring process. About a month after my test, I received an email from HR that I had been scheduled for an interview at their Bronx Facility. The interview took place in a small conference room within the facility. I interviewed with a supervisor and a manager of the department I was applying for. They were friendly and welcoming. We sat down in the room and they brought out a small booklet with questions and blank space under where they would write down my answers. All the questions asked were situational questions, "what if" and "what would you do" scenarios. Everything was very general, I didn't get a chance to really tell them about my experience, abilities or qualifications. It was pretty disappointing. I had an experience before where I interviewed for a similar position and it was completely different, more personal and I did get a chance to tell them more about myself. This time, I barely had a chance to make eye contact with these people as they were busy writing down my answers. Not a really good experience for me. My advice: read typical situational questions online and their answers and perhaps you do better than I did.

      Question 1

Things like "describe a situation in which you used design". All the questions were situational.

      Interview

Two part, roughly six hour long assessment consisting of general engineering questions (Ohms, Kirchhoff) and what felt like an IQ test. After a couple of weeks there's an interview, though this timeline may vary.
