    Interview

Two separate interviews, one with the branch manager and the second with the regional director.

The first with the manager was for them getting to know you and what you're after, who you are, what you've done.

The second with both the branch manager and the regional director is more in depth, serious questions on pay, how they think you're going to do in each office, how're you going to get along with each person, etc.

    Interview

It took a while for the company to get in contact after I applied online, however once I did the process was fairly quick and painless. I met with the area manager for an interview in one of the local branches, and everyone there was very friendly. I ended up having two further interviews with managers from the branches that were hiring in order to place me in the right role and location - which was a little long winded but they appreciated that too and adjusted their questions accordingly!

    Mortgage Consultant Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in London, England (UK)
    Declined Offer
    Negative Experience
    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through other source. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at Countrywide plc (London, England (UK)) in January 2015.

    Interview

Excessive interview process....telephone call regarding the job and what is expected, meeting with area manager lasts around hour and half which is question and answer , then another meeting with area and Regional manager have to do a 10 minute presentation selling something you have never sold before, then competency based questions around hour and half again, then you have to spend a day shadowing another colleague and then the final stage providing you have got through every other stage is to meet the MD !! then and only then will you find out if you have a job, then they will ask for references and do the credit checks, then a 5-6 week training period in Dartford ...nice people friendly enough but this process is excessive by any stretch for only a consultant job ...all in all the process is too long..found myself applying for other jobs before the end of this process as it dragged on to long

    Interview Questions

    • usual competency based questions, have to sell a product you have never sold before ..they want you to make it memorable and different than the usual pen   Answer Question

    Reasons for Declining

I had applied for other jobs during this process as it had took so long and felt it could of been a lot quicker, didn't want to waste that much time if they declined me so edged my bets and went for other interviews, ended up accepting a offer from a bank which paid more form the outset, when I made them aware they offered me the position with them..so felt it was little too much too late
