I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Cracker Barrel (Mount Laurel, NJ) in May 2015
Interview
I applied through SnagAJob, and within a few hours got a call from the GM Dave, who then set up an interview with me a few days later. I went in and filled out a paper application (which confused me a little because i did the application online) then asked questions like how I defined good service at a restaurant, what kind of interpersonal experience I had with dealing with other people, and stuff like that. It was very informal, and none of the questions were particularly tough to answer or anything like that.

Question 1
What do you define as "good service" at a restaurant?
The interview was easy. They know most of these servers are just starting out. But they want you to know how to upsell, and how to work in a fast pace environment.
I applied online. I interviewed at Cracker Barrel (Shrewsbury, PA) in Nov 2025
Interview
It went pretty well, just asked the norm, such as tell me a little about yourself and why do you want to work here. Just asked simple questions and told me I had the job and what day to come in next. I applied to be a server and they told me I would get 25 hours a week, but they ended up making me a to-go specialist and I’m getting like 6 hours a week. I also didn’t get scheduled for a month after my interview but I’m working a bit now.

Question 1
Give me a situation with a difficult customer and how you handled it
Very easy, seems like they were looking for a pulse. Mine was done at the checkerboard in the dining room. not a difficult job, so not a difficult interview. I don't remember any specific questions
