      Sales Manager Interview

      Jan 30, 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Barcelona
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Criteo (Barcelona) in Jan 2018

      Interview

I applied online. I interviewed at Criteo (Barcelona (Spain)) in January 2018. There were two stages of this process (1) phone interview (2) in office interview: (1) the first stage consisted of two parts (a) role play and (b) culture fit interview. (a) The role play was an opportunity to sell one of four products to Criteo itself. This is an oppotunity to demonstrate your Sales skills. After which you discuss the role play and how you performed. It was a good idea and I enjoyed the role play. Also, my discussion after the interview was open and helpful. (b) The Culture fit was a nice opportunity to talk about the team and see if there is a good fit for you and the company and the spesific team to which you are applying. (2) the interview in the office was nice (and succesful). I sat down with the person with whom I did the role play, and two regional sales managers. I repeated the roleplay with them and it took 20 minutes. Afterw which we discussed the role play and how I did. For the remaining 30 minutes of the interview we just discussed the company the team, and my situation. This the a great (and the last) opportunity to see if you are a good fit for Criteo. Bonus: After the in-office interview the recruiter to whom I was talking showe me around the office. In sum, Criteo as a stright forward and easy to understand interveiw process. That both tests you for the role and helps you see if it is were you want to be. I have interveiwed many times and Criteo as a process that is actually quite simple and enjoyable.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Criteo (Sydney) in Feb 2022

      Interview

3 rounds - 1st was a casual chat, 2nd with HR and 3rd with the Hiring manager. Short interview process in all however not the most organised. The vibe was very dependent on the person you interviewed with so hard to gauge the employer vibe.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Criteo (Barcelona)

      Interview

One call with HR for some explanation and skills review One call with a team lead One video call with two managers The third call was conducted by a new appointed manager that was clearly close minded and was not thinking out of the box for one second, it’s good to train your employees for sales techniques but make sure that they can go a little bit out of their role sometimes and use other techniques and soft skills. Time lost for me as you guys don’t give any news post interview plus really low compensation. No wonder why you have shitty reviews lately in Barcelona if you have such people in your team It’s ok to spam with your fancy videos but clearly does not apply to interviewers.

We’re sorry to hear you didn’t have the optimal candidate experience, and we appreciate you taking the time to give your feedback. This is something we take seriously, and are continuously looking to improve. Part of our development philosophy is to support and upskill team members as they move into management roles especially as they take on greater responsibilities in interviewing, and from past experience we believe having two managers of different experience levels in an interview can give a more balanced perspective. In our interview process we look at assessing core competencies and skills which are a requirement of our roles. We fully agree that in Sales, fresh thinking is important. If you have more specific feedback we’d like to hear from you and have further perspective on your experience, so we can continue to improve. Application

      Interview

Very well structured interview process. First there is a call with HR to discuss about your experience and how you would fit in the company. Second interview is a phone call with a team lead for a role play and again assess your skills. Final interview is the continuation of the role play plus some other questions.
