I applied for the position online, and after a waiting period of three weeks, I was invited for an interview. The interview experience was ok overall, with the interviewer was asking a lot of behavioral questions to make sure that i was fitted for the intern role.

Pretty straightforward and very welcoming employers. Show them you are really passionate about the position then it should not be a big issue. Also a virtual intern day after you passed the phone screening.
