I applied online. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at DLA Piper (New York, NY) in May 2017
Interview
The interview process is very unfair. Now I understands why so many people dont want to work there. You have to do a video interview that gives you less than a minute to answer some questions they ask you. You dont get to speak with anyone. Not even by phone. You cant re-record or fix something. 25 minutes to answer all those questions. then you get a test to see your skills using Microsoft and excel and only 25 minutes for each other the test and you cant use control or anything to answer the questions. It's very old fashion. This place needs to stop all those silly test and start doing in person interviews and actually taking the time to meet the people who want to work for them

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at DLA Piper (Washington, DC) in Jun 2026
Interview
Got a referral and was sent a link for a virtual interview through VidCruiter. You don't get to see the questions beforehand and for most of the questions you only get one take to answer them.

Interview
Several rounds of interviews within a few hours. First met with paralegal team, then with associates, then with partners. Everyone was extremely laid back and nice. The partners weren’t intimidating and nobody grilled me with tricky questions. Very much just a conversation of why I was interested in the position and my previous background.
Had a phone screening then in-person interviews. The first in-person interview was with a paralegal, the second was with an associate, and the third and fourth were with partners. The interview wasn’t difficult. Just general questions about why I wanted to work at a law firm and what my previous experience was. Everyone was super nice - even the partners!
