Consultant - Technology Systems Integration/Functional Interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Deloitte in Dec 2014

      Interview

I was contacted by a Deloitte Federal recruiter, with whom I had my initial telephone screening. The screening was 20-30 minutes. I answered questions about my resume, and what I currently do. The recruiter gave me information about what to expect in my next interview with one of their senior managers. My second interview was with one of the senior managers, who also asked me questions regarding my resume. In this interview, more detail was to be provided regarding what was on my resume. Expect to again discuss your resume, but have examples and go deeper regarding what's written there. The Senior Manager will ask you why Deloitte. You should have a solid answer. The senior manager also asked why I was leaving my current job, and what I was looking to do in my career. The next day, I received notification that I'd made it to the next round of interviews and was sent information of what to expect. The recruiter coached me on what to expect as much as possible; the recruiter is really helpful and supportive. I suggest you ask as many questions as possible. The last set of three interviews was at the Deloitte office in Rosslyn, VA. You are initially walked through a 20 minute Power Point regarding Deloitte and its structure with other candidates. This was done by a Systems Integration senior manager. Then you are escorted to an office, which will be your interview room. The three interviewers will come to you here. Expect a technical, culture/fit, and case interview. The technical interviewer is again, going deeper inter your resume. Know your resume. This should be easy. Have examples, know the technical terms of what you do. If it is at all listed, they may discuss it. Ask questions of your interviewer as well! You're talking about devoting 40 hours or more per week to this job. You definitely want to know their experience with the company and the job. The culture/fit interview is trying to gauge your personality to know if you'd be a good fit with the company. This interview was done by a director, and he/she will ask you about yourself. Do not launch into what you do personally. Keep your discussion to about you professionally. Relax and be personable, because they need to see this. If you're going to sit in consultations and discussions with the client, you should be able to easily establish rapport. The recruiter sent me information regarding the case interview. I also went to the Deloitte website, and reviewed their information and examples. I also went to YouTube and Google, and tried to absorb as much information as possible regarding what to expect in a case interview. I suggest you ask intelligent questions and take good notes. I'm not a great note taker at all, but this is something you really need to do. My case question pertained to requirements gathering. CIO of a government agency is looking to implement a new asset management system. Who would you look to to obtain requirements? What methods would you use to gather requirements? All of the interviewers were pleasant, and it seems as if they want you to do well. I felt like each interviewer was encouraging, and trying to help you in the process.

      Question 1

There were no difficult or unexpected questions. Why Deloitte? What are some of your strengths? What is one of your weaknesses?
