The candidate experience and interview process was amazing. I went through the first interview with DesignLab and received a not for a second interview. Unfortunately, I accepted the offer with another company. If I didn’t, I would have done the 2nd interview. The interview was great and I felt like the questions asked were appropriate in getting to know what skills/experiences I can add to the team. I’ve been through other interview with other teams, and it seemed like generic questions like what are your weaknesses? DesignLab laid out the interview process which is great so you know what to expect. Overall, I recommend applying and interviewing for DesignLab.

The most organized, well paced, and responsive interview process I've ever experienced. It was all done through video calls seeing as the company is fully remote and enabled me to meet different members of the team before starting.
- Open-ended situational questions to assess my suitability for the role

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Designlab in Oct 2020
Application was done using an easy to fill out form instead of a cover leter. I was first interviewed by a People Ops team member—basically an HR person. First interview was a short call (30min) on zoom and focused on my application and work culture. This was followed by a longer (1hr) technical interview with the development team lead on zoom with cameras. The technical interview was casual but thorough. The dev lead combed through my experiences as a developer, gave me an overview of the technology stack and asked questions about my skills and how I would approach different situations.
