Wow, is all I can say. Was contacted by a recruiter where he told me the Store Manager works upwards of 60 hours a week - and the kicker, salary under $40,000! He said that there was room to negotiate with the district manager so I went ahead with the face to face interview. I showed up to a neighboring store for the interview - office was not clean, room was cramped, and there was a total of three people in there (during the time of COVID). The district manager even removed his mask for the interview while I'm sitting next to him. He told me this was a very hard job and to expect to be working endlessly. The store I interviewed for had a total of SIX EMPLOYEES, which means I would be basically be taking up residency there. I asked about salary and he said the computer calculates it to make it fair, no negotiating whatsoever. During the interview he talked about other store managers struggling, my previous employer not being any good, and barely let me get a word in edgewise. I would advise against it or take it as last resort.
