I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Dow Jones (Princeton, NJ) in Jul 2015
Interview
Applied in June, heard back within 2-3 weeks. Had a phone interview with an HR hiring rep, then a second phone interview with a manager in my department and the head of my department, then an in person interview with a second manager in my department and the head of the department. Real simple, no trick questions. They were genuinely interested in my experiences and how I would fit with the team. After the in-person interview, there were two exercises (research related and then language skills related), to test my research skills and my foreign language skills. I was a bit worried about the language skills one because I'm not 100% fluent in my second language, but it was really straightforward.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Dow Jones (Barcelona) in Jun 2026
Interview
The interview process was smooth, well-organized, and professional. It included an initial HR screening, a practical assessment, and two interviews with the hiring managers. The interviewers were friendly and created a comfortable atmosphere while asking questions about my experience, current affairs, research skills, and how I handle deadlines. Communication was clear throughout the process, and I received an offer shortly after the final interview.

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Dow Jones (Barcelona) in Sep 2025
Interview
Three rounds of interviews: screening interview, skills test and final interview with the hiring manager and a senior team member. I made it to the last stage, but to this day, I haven't heard back from them. I deduced that I was rejected but I still haven't received a formal rejection email, despite sending the recruiter and hiring manager a follow-up email. It has been 5 weeks since my last interview. I had to take a holiday for each interview and invested considerable time i the recruitment process. Unprofessional.

Question 1
Behavioural questions and translation/proof-reading test
It was a 2-step process:
1 - a test to check your research and excel abilities. The research part was easy, excel part - more difficult, time was also limited
2 - an interview with a manager and another employee who asked pretty basic questions. People were nice but ghosted my emails after the interview
