Smooth and friendly process. Initial interview with a recruiter, followed by an interview with the hiring manager and ended with a 2 hour final interview with multiple members of the chain of command and leadership team.

Interview
I applied online and was contacted by a recruiter to schedule a phone interview via their scheduling portal. The recruiter didn't call/show up. I reached out to the recruiter, who apologized for being "late"; they weren't late, they were a no show. After emailing back and forth for a couple days, because it would take days to get a response, the recruiter said they'd call me the next day (but didn't give a time). Without a time to block out my calendar, I wasn't able to answer their call. I called back once free, got voicemail, and left some times to connect. We finally landed on a date and time for my (FIRST) phone interview; the recruiter was 20 minutes late. The interview went well, so they wanted to set me up for a phone interview with the hiring manager. At this point i was extremely frustrated, but the job was exciting and I liked the hiring manager's background, so we set up time for me to interview. The phone interview with the manager went well, so i sent a thank you to them and a follow up to the recruiter. The next day I get a reply via email that the previous day, the day of my interview with the hiring manager, they had extended an offer to someone else and that person accepted. This was a TOTAL waste of my time; 3 weeks! Reflecting on the experience, I was overwhelmingly, unnecessarily patient. Recruiters are often stretched thin, especially in hyper-growth companies, but this is really unacceptable and I hope change happens (aside from just hiring more recruiters), because this highlights a clear lack of professionalism and business process.
