To clarify, we do ask technical questions during our interviews to confirm that candidates are able to demonstrate their technical skills. In addition, we do our best to line up our compensation plans with experience and technical skill set. For that reason, we ask about compensation at different points in our hiring process. Tim Neiman (DE’s owner) is typically only involved in our non-technical fit interview so it’s unlikely he was the person you reference in your review. Finally, deceiving candidates about the position in question is never our intention.
