I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at ESPN (Bristol, CT) in Jan 2016
Interview
Initial application consisted of just a cover letter and resume. Received email invite to write 1-1.5-page analysis on ESPN show and the topics touched on, as well as the structure, pacing and overall composition of the show. Next was a phone screen with a number of people on the other end, maybe 3-4. Next ESPN booked me a hotel room in Bristol near their main campus for a two-day interview/tour of the facilities, was very cool. Spoke with maybe 6-7 people in an interview setting. One tested on recognition (via picture) of popular sports figures at the time.
I applied online. I interviewed at ESPN (New York, NY) in Jan 2019
Interview
Received the a phone call promptly at the time agreed upon. Very laid back and personal conversation. I was asked about ESPN programs that I follow and current events going on in the sports world. She explained the program rather well and allowed me to ask any questions I had. Asked me about my prior experience and stated that if chosen to proceed to the 2nd round I would receive notification to schedule a video interview.
