I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Emerson (West Lafayette, IN) in Jan 2016
Interview
Emerson seems to be pretty set on interviewing candidates from their specific school list. They do not branch out beyond that. In my situation they sent out a representative to my school to do interviews. They interviewed many candidates and the ones that seemed would fit with Emerson were forwarded on to all the business units to then have the opportunity to interview. This doesn't mean all the business units will want to interview the candidate. If a business unit is interested in the candidate they will then reach out to that candidate to do an on-site set of interviews. I interviewed with approximately 5 to 6 different people. After that a decision was made and an offer was sent out. All of the interviews were very relaxed and friendly. Since Emerson is such a technical company they understand that you won't understand all the details of their products, but will want you to have a basic understanding.

Interview
I was asked to walk the interviewer through my CV and we have a sort of open discussion during it. After, the recruiter asked me few behavioral questions about previous experiences.

Interview
There was one simple phone screener, followed by a round one with a department head, and then round two consisted of meeting with several VP's. Questions were all behavioral based and relatively conversational.

I applied through college or university. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at Emerson (South Bend, IN) in Feb 2016
Interview
The interview was supposed to be:
First Round - Behavioral
Second Round - Behavioral + Fit
However, I never got to round 2. Emerson kept all of the candidates in limbo for 3 months only to send them rejects one after the other. It was pretty weird as we didn't expect this.
