      Co-Op Interview

      Nov 4, 2012
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Emerson in Aug 2012

      Interview

First round of interview was screening, done by an engineer. It was not too difficult; it was mostly basic questions about interests and major. Second round of interview consisted of HR and another engineer. HR asked most of the behavioral questions. The engineer asked some technical and few behavior questions. Final round was talking with two managers, a project engineer, and a VP. More behavioral/technical questions in the final round.

Simple and very easy. Everything was fine and it was a great experience in my opinion. I would recommend applying for Emerson positions. I was able to ask questions and get quality answers from the interview panel.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Emerson (New York, NY)

      Interview

Very friendly people, interviews were great and the employees I got to speak with were all very polite and funny. However, it's a very competitive hiring process, so be prepared for the hiring process to take 1-2 months. I'd recommend applying to other positions as well to have fallout options. The application status also leaves a lot to be desired, as you can't see your application status in your Job Submissions; just the completed status and the date it got updated, which in my experience, was on the company's end. Having a bit more communication on both ends would have helped ease the process in my opinion as it did take me over a month and a half. But, all the people I spoke with were lovely and I was happy to have been considered.
