    Marketing Coordinator Interview

Anonymous Employee in San Antonio, TX
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Energy One (Texas) (San Antonio, TX).

    Interview

I applied online and was called a few hours later. She asked a couple questions and then scheduled an interview the next day. When I arrived, she had a meeting (oddly at the same time of our appointment) and put me to interview with someone else. We talked for thirty minutes... He was a chatter but not much of an interviewer. He basically asked if I thought I could do the job, asked about my ability to engage with people. I was hired on the spot. So were all of my coworkers.

    Interview

amateurish, ready to hire poor judgement hires just about anyone without even looking at qualifications. they seemed desperate to hire had a board with reps on it after meeting there were several reps no longer on the board, very few sales were listed i found this suspect.

    Interview Questions

    • do i want to do this kind of work door to door part times sales at 20$ per hour, as long as the hours worked out it would be a good part time opportunity. unfortunatley they are a scam, they offered to pay for training but at end of hiring process after you accept position they hand you script and say if you cant memorize this perfectly by start of training then you cant do the job. so in other words they want you to train yourself and use it against you to pressure you to put hours in without pay. Interview

#1. 30-minute face to face interview with owner.
#2. Face to face interview with office manager and installation manager.
Very friendly and inviting atmosphere. Owner was 15 minutes late for first interview but there were multiple accidents that day. Enjoyed the overall process, fast response to all matters regarding the candidacy and timeline. I'm glad I didn't receive an offer now because the pay was far too low.

    Marketing Coordinator Interview

Anonymous Employee in Las Colonias, TX
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Energy One (Texas) (Las Colonias, TX) in October 2012.

    Interview

After applying for the marketing coordinator position online and doing some general research about the company, I received a phone call from HR saying they were interested in a face to face interview.

I met with one of the managers at a local coffee shop since we happened to live in the same area. The small talk was easy and personable in line and he graciously offered to pay for my coffee. Once we sat down and I gave him a hard copy of my resume, he asked me a few questions about my background in marketing, sales and education. The interview was casual and easy. He was very honest about the position and the work I would be doing, which I appreciated since I had been scammed and lied to in other interviews. The marketing coordinator position consists of a paid training period and then a $45,000 base salary + commission if you pass the training process.

I was then invited to a second interview for next week which I look forward to.

The marketing coordinator position consists of pre-qualifying higher end income residential homes and setting up appointments. The manager said if you follow the 'script' they teach you in training and maintain a confident and friendly attitude, most will have no problem offering their time to you for a scheduled appointment. Being a recent college graduate, 45K + commission for simply talking to people about a great product sounds fantastic!

More to come next week after the second interview...

    Interview Questions

    • Which selling technique do you think works better for our company... the hard sell or the softer, knowledgeable sale?   1 Answer

I accepted the second interview process. More to come next week...
