Epic is a great place to start for someone just out of college looking for a job in healthcare, IT, or general project management. They are hiring A LOT right now-which is a good thing if you are desperate for a job, but not as appealing maybe once you're already there. Just the month prior to my interview, they had apparently welcomed over 700 new people just for the PM role I was applying to. The campus is cool, the people seem nice and humble, but I got the impression that Epic does a lot to woo you in but not as much to keep you happy once you're committed. The turnover rate for their company is high and is very high for the PM position.
The interview process starts fairly easy; it begins with a phone interview which is really more of a screening since the HR rep does most of the talking. If you are normal and sort of qualified you will be invited to an on-site interview. They put you in a nice hotel, take you out to dinner the night before, and then exhaust you during a full day of interviews which include: a product demo, mini campus tour, multiple behavioral interviews, a case interview, and a presentation (on a topic of your choice and you must prepare some type of handout or something prior). The day ended with 2 hours of testing-a math test, verbal test, and programming test. I was eating between interviews every 30 minutes just to stay afloat. In terms of the testing, don't worry about it, there's nothing you can (or should) do to prepare for them-it's simply a measure of aptitude. The presentation and the interview with HR I felt were the major elements in comprising whether I got an offer. For the presentation, make sure to find a topic you know a lot about, feel confident discussing, and you've practiced in front of friends or peers prior to the interview. Definitely many of the questions listed below were asked of me so be prepared. It's a long day so do what you need to stay energized and enthusiastic.
