3. Virtual On-site consisting of a) a behavioral interview b) a data science interview c) live completion of a mini data-science project

Data Science Interview (I only remember 8/9 questions):
1. What is cross-validation, where it is used, how do you do it correctly?
2. What are the differences between supervised and unsupervised algorithms?
3. What are examples of structured vs unstructured data?
4. What is multi-collinearity, why is it bad and how do we deal with it?
5. What is data normalization and what are the reasons behind doing it?
6. How would you handle NaNs and outliers?
7. Describe the life-cycle of a data science project

Coding Interview:
1. Print all numbers between 1 and n, omitting multiples of 5 and 7.
2. Variant of the maximum number overlapping intervals problem
3. Write a program to compute the TF-IDF scores of all tokens in a given corpus of documents
Behavioral Interview:
Typical questions that you can find online, nothing unexpected
Data Science Interview
Detailed discussion of my past projects
Mini Data Science Project
I was given some data and asked to explore the dataset and fit a model to predict a certain target on future data points. A simple regression problem. I was given 1,5 hours.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Expedia Group (London, England) in Apr 2025
Interview
Very long interview process it almost took more than 2 months for final decision. Not a great interview experience. Apply if you have spare time to waste else will be disappointed. Hr screening > Hiring manager+ SQL test 30min > Take home task > Behavioural round
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Manager round: general about your self and why Expedia +
SQL: basic table join and and some advance level window function nothing difficult
Take home: presentation on the data creating

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Expedia Group (Seattle, WA) in Sep 2023
Interview
1 Interview with HM which included phone screen and general fit followed by 4 Panel rounds 30 mins each revolving around, resume, behavioral, deep dive in projects and another phone screen.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
HM round: Basic SQL in HM round.
Phone screen: More SQL and Pandas equivalent.
Resume question: ML and deep learning questions related to projects on resume.
Behavioral: Scenario based questions
Second phone screen: SQL and Pandas equivalent for SQL.
Director round: More questions on resume
I applied online. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Expedia Group (Seattle, WA) in Mar 2023
Interview
Recruiter screen (1st round), then 2 interviews (hiring manager and SQL test, 2nd round), then another round of 5 interviews with different members of the team (3rd round). Very disorganized recruiters, after I passed the 2nd round they essentially just failed to coordinate my final round with the hiring managers. I was then ghosted for about 4 months before being asked out of the blue to schedule the final round (5 interviews) at short notice.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Fairly simple SQL. Mostly STAR/competencies questions. One interview with basic statistics questions, two interviews walking through simple market analytics scenario.
