      Customer Relations Representative Interview

      Feb 21, 2024
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Durham, NC
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Fidelity Investments (Durham, NC) in Jan 2024

      Interview

For my interview experience, there was a standard 3 interview process. 2 of them were with my recruiter and 1 of them was with the “Talent Champions”. For the recruiter interview the first was just a preliminary chat about basics such as why I’m interested in the role, am I capable of studying for the required licensing, etc. In the second interview with the recruiter, I was then quizzed on my knowledge of the licenses, my prior work experiences, etc. Finally, my final interview was with the Talent Champions where I was interviewed for about an hour about a combination of the first two interviews as well as some “what would you do” situations on the job. Here is where the negative aspect of this experience comes in. While I thought the interview processes was well, I was misinformed about the actual timeline in which I’d hear back. I was originally told by my recruiter that it might take up to a month to hear back. Then I did my final interview with the Talent Champions who said I’d hear back in 5-7 business days. Fast forward 10 days I decided to follow up with my recruiter to see where I stood regarding hearing back about results. I was ignored by my recruiter the first time. Then I decided to wait until I got to the month estimate I was given by my recruiter before I followed up again. Once again no response. It has been over 60 days with no response and my estimated start date is about to pass. While it is clear I was not selected for the opportunity, it’s just disappointing to see that a company will ghost its candidates after going through the entire process. I could understand if I just never got a response for an interview and my application just staying in received, but after participating through the entire process, I think it’s just rude and disrespectful for any potential candidate to have to experience that. While I hope this was an isolated incident, I don’t know if I can say for sure. My application still sits in limbo and at this point, I have already accepted and started at a different job. While I don’t discourage others from applying and interviewing, don’t rely on Fidelity as your main choice. Clearly they don’t have any issue ghosting candidates who go through the entirety of the interviewing process.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Fidelity Investments (Jacksonville, FL)

      Interview

Had two phone screenings and a zoom interview with two recruiters. The zoom interview lasted 1 hour and 15 minutes. The recruiters clarified that studying for licensing would be self taught with mentors for guidance. Training would last 6-7 months, 2 of those months will be spent on the licensing exams. It will take you around 2 years to move to another position/ pivot in your career. There is a trick question about studying for the exams, just remember to “trust the process”.
