Anonymous Interview Candidate
I interviewed at Forbes
Interviewer seemed passive and was confused why I was not able to do a last minute interview over a Holiday weekend that I was out of town for. Her words: "But you're unemployed, you have nothing going on". The interview was just as much of a hot mess.
- Do you know the difference between Forbes and Forbes Books?

Anonymous Interview Candidate
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Forbes
The recruiter was very helpful and nice. However they were confused on what exactly they wanted from the candidate. Also each step takes at least two weeks. The process is very slow

Anonymous Interview Candidate in London, England
I interviewed at Forbes (London, England)
Quick phone call with HR for screening questions, then an interview with future colleagues and managers to go more in depth about the responsibilities and benefits of the advertised position.
- Where are you based? Why do you want to work for us? Tell us a bit about your previous position.

I interviewed at Forbes
Great communication by Patrick Moffatt, but the deliberation for the editorial team took months. Interviewees were friendly enough and somewhat open with responses but often seemed rather hurried and some were difficult to pin down for an interview time.
- What has been your previous experience?

Anonymous Interview Candidate in London, England
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Forbes (London, England) in Sep 2023
The call was with an initial recruiter who was lovely The second stage was with the research manager and his boss. I was notified only one person would take the interview. The research manager seemed uninterested, and he asked questions - how would your team describe you. The scenario questions were quite simple, but the job description did not actually display the characteristics of the role.
- How would your colleagues describe you? What's your experience with third party data?

Anonymous Employee
I interviewed at Forbes
Interviewed via phone, gave info about my background, education, and previous writing experience and learned more about the position requirements and the rest of the content team. Hired in a freelance role after going through one round of interviews.
- What is your experience with writing?

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Jersey City, NJ
The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Forbes (Jersey City, NJ)
The first call was good, and the recruiter was very engaging and happy with my qualifications and background. Overall it was a positive call. Although after 1.5-2 weeks of waiting for further intimation about the process I was told that the requirements have changed and they needed someone with more work experience.
- Q: Tell me something about yourself.

3 step process. One recruiter one technical and the final round you have to prepare a data project and present it to the team. Technical round is not too bad mainly on SQL and testing. The data project is very fair as well just need to take your time with it.
- Explain a left join. Explain how to run an A/B test.

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Dubai
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Forbes (Dubai) in Jun 2023
Received a call asking for interview, and whether I am internist, I accept, and did the interview. The HR (Based in Egypt), was the definition of how to not interview type of person. Zero information about the company. Zero communication skills. Zero respect. I moved along, finished the interview. Received an offer, and decline it. From the initial communication, I could tell this a toxic work environment , and I rather declined. Sooner; I received an email on my decline, which prove my point.
- Typical interview questions, basically reading off resume

Anonymous Interview Candidate
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Forbes in Jun 2023
Began the interview process late June 2023. Currently late August and it's impossible to get a hold of anyone or find out the status of my application. First interview with the team lead was one of the most lackluster experiences in my life. Lots of halting between questions, felt like he was reading from an index card and not actually listening to my responses. Weak communication across the internal team and recruiters. Takes literally 2-3 weeks between responses to emails. On multiple occasions, a recruiter would email asking me if I could take a call and never actually followed up by email, phone or otherwise. Disgusted with the unprofessionalism and lack of communication and blatant disregard for candidates' time.
- How would you approach building a strategy for content gaps in a new vertical? What is your experience managing writers? Explain how you would track KPIs and progress toward goals for a new article.
