I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at GEICO (Houston, TX) in Jan 2024
Interview
I connected with the recruiter at the NSBE conference. He reached out and shared the Data Engineering Development Program. The process was smooth and transparent but the live coding session was difficult. I was expecting a medium question since it's a training program but I got hard questions that took me a longer time to understand. I wrote the code but it didn't run. I explained my thought process but I guess since my code didn't run, the interviewer wasn’t impressed.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at GEICO (Plano, TX) in Oct 2024

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at GEICO
Interview
Questions were straight forward. Mostly questions on SQL and some questions on describe the process of creating a data pipeline in DBT. no programing related questions. The rest are questions are generic such as how you handle working with other team members.
The HR directly scheduled for technical interview without a introductory call. There were 3 folks questioning on SQL, DW concepts and python. The SQL questions were more theoretical like what string manipulation functions do you know, what is a window function.
