What started as a quick and exciting process, eventually turned into a disaster.
I applied to Gallup in May and I got a call from a recruiter in July. I quickly had a video conference with the recruiter and in a couple of days I was scheduled to have a video conference with the hiring manager.
The video interview with the hiring manager seemed to have gone quite well. She promised to get back to me in 2 days but she didn't keep that promise. I emailed HR and I was told to wait for one more day. One day later - no call, no email. I emailed HR again and was told to wait till the beginning of the next week. Waited. Silence. Emailed again. No response from HR but finally a day or two later the hiring manager called.
I was told that they would pass on me because they are looking for a person with more of data science skills. This reasoning completely blew me away.
Nothing in the job description was close to data science. Zero questions were asked to me about data science during the interview. And the funny part was that I had multiple data science projects on my resume anyway.
I don't care that I didn't get the offer but it was disappointing to see how the hiring manager was not able keep up to her promises. It was also disappointing to hear to the BS reasoning, which was completely irrelevant to the job description they posted.
I was expecting something different other than disrespect and BSing from this company.
