Interview
Initial phone interview asking personality questions and a few broad technical questions.
This was followed by an in-person interview with two interviewers. This was mostly technical with questions involving algorithm complexities and writing code to problems in your code of choice.

Fix the bug in this code? (Then handed a sheet with a short C++ function on it)
Phone screen was a common tell me about yourself and why Garmin. They didn't ask any follow ups on your answered and seemed to just run through the list of the questions they had.
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Garmin (Olathe, KS) in Nov 2025
Interview
I had 1hr behavioral Interview and 1hr technical interview. Behavioral interview was about how I got to know the company, why should the company hire me, and what kind of research experience I had.
Process took about a month. Recruiter was slow getting back to me but interview process was alright. The interviewers were friendly and mainly focused on problem solving and how you think through your code.
