Applied for the Client Director role through theLadders.com. I also contacted the specific recruiter and passed along my credentials via e-mail. I have past experience with management and IT consulting with a similar model to Gartner's. First interview was a telephone screening with the recruiter in Stamford, CT. The was a general overview of the position and walkthrough of my resume and experience. The second interview was with a recruiter from the local office. This was a more in depth questioning of my experience with solution-based sales, and me providing examples of desiging client engagements and solutions. I was also asked about my expected compensation, and past compensation for the previous two years. The local recruiter, and an additional recruiting coordinator remained as my primary contacts throughout the remainder of the interview process. The third interview was in person with the hiring manager and an individual who is currently in-role as a Client Director. This interview was generally a judge of character, experience, and cultural fit with Gartner and the workgroup. The fourth interview was scenerio/behavioral-based, with two hiring managers. The only preparation needed for this was a personal review of client experiences, and how I, as an individual, would handle different client situations. The final interview was a panel presentation/sales call roleplay. The panel consisted of the hiring manager, the local recruiter, the Managing Parter of consulting, and the General Vice President of the office. After the presentation, which lasted about an hour, I met individually with the GVP. The GVP looked for ambition, drive, influence, intellect, and poise. The fifth and final meeting was with the recruiter, hiring manager, and GVP.
