I took an initial video call over Google Meet with a recruiter at Gemini. I was asked a number of irrelevant questions during the call:
1. I was asked about Scala even though it was nowhere to be found in the job description.
2. I was unnecessarily asked detailed personal questions about what I will be doing between now and the time I join Gemini.
3. I was falsely accused of engaging in an information gathering exercise rather than a serious call.
I was asked why I am interested in working for Gemini - this is fine. Just when I informed the interviewer that I am a user of Gemini, things turned sour. It's as if a switch flipped, leading them to manipulate the interview to turn me down. I don't know if they have a policy against hiring users.
In summary, the interviewer was highly impatient, impolite, and overly quick to judgment. The interviewer failed to limit the scope of questions to what would be pertinent for the role.
