Interview
I applied online and was contacted not long after to setup a preliminary interview - I was told there would be no technical questions yet.
The preliminary went well, typical questions but the proof of US citizenship with a clean record was clearly of importance, from the questions asked about it. The interview went quickly and so I was asked a couple technical questions that I stumbled through out of surprise.
I wasn't close enough to drive for an in-person interview so my next (and last) interview was a Skype video call with 3 other people working there. They asked lots of technical questions (almost nothing but) for maybe an hour or so. Nearly all questions they asked were listed in other reviews, but a couple were about self-reflection ("Rate your skill level in Java from 1-10. [example: 7] Why 7? What makes you better than a 6? What does it take to become an 8? Why aren't you an 8?"). About a week later I got an offer.

Applied through the portal then waited only a weeks or so to hear back about scheduling a phone screening. Following the phone screening was told that if they decided to move forward that I would have a follow up panel interview.

Panel style interview with 4 interviewers. More of like talk about yourself and your experiences and projects. I did have some very freshman-sophomore college level programing questions but no leetcode coding style.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at General Dynamics Mission Systems (Pittsfield, MA) in May 2026
Interview
The interview process involved 2 rounds of interviews. The first round was 30 minutes. During this round, the technical manager provided an overview about the work the company does. We lightly went over my resume and I was asked behavioral style questions. The second round was a 1 hour panel interview with 5 team members. Each member gave an overview about their work, explained the type of work I would be doing, and asked a mix of technical and behavioral questions. Everyone was really friendly and made an effort to make sure I felt comfortable during each interview.
