I was contacted by an outside recruiter. The in-house recruiter was great to work with, pleasant, and very responsive. I took the online assessment and was scheduled for a phone screen with one of their tech leads. An hour after the scheduled interview time with no call, I reached out the external recruiter, who called the internal recruiter, and then all of a sudden I got my phone call when I wasn't expecting it and was caught off guard. I got through it, and they immediately wanted to schedule the next round with multiple tech leads, which took some doing due to conflicting schedules, and when they finally had it set up they had to push it back another day. When it was time for the second technical interview (online due to Covid-19), it was _very_ awkward. I opened things up by talking about my background, nobody wanted to ask me anything, and it really felt dead from the very beginning. It really felt like they were less than interested and only sitting in on the meeting because they had to. They moved into the hands on portion. That had a series of technical problems with the conferencing software. They gave me no information I needed to access the database, so I had to find it myself, which took a while, but I worked through it and got what I needed. I created a project, wrote the HTML that I needed, created the objects I needed to insert the data, and then they called it off an hour into a two hour meeting just as I was starting to write the short piece of database code to do the insert, which I've done many times before. I was then ghosted by the external recruiter and felt used and ripped off, but this seems to be in line with other reviews on this site, so I'm glad I didn't have to decide whether to take a dead end job using outdated technology just to get money coming in.
