I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Goodwill (Buffalo, NY) in Jun 2018
Interview
There was literally no interview, they just asked some basic questions. It is an unpaid internship. so you should have a plan what you want to work on, and let them know to see if they have the need.
Some companies use an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to screen resumes for keywords.
2. Initial Screening (Phone/Video Screening)
A recruiter or HR representative conducts a short (15–30 min) call to:
Verify basic qualifications.
Discuss salary expectations, availability, and interest in the role.
Explain the next steps.
3. First-Round Interview (Technical/Behavioral)
May be conducted by a hiring manager or team lead.
Behavioral Interview: Questions focus on past experiences (e.g., "Tell me about a time you handled a conflict at work").
Technical Interview (if applicable): Role-specific questions or problem-solving tasks (common in tech, finance, engineering).
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Goodwill in Feb 2020
Interview
The interview process was professional and they made me feel comfortable talking to them. Many interviews I have had in the past made me feel very intimidated to talk to the employers, but I was very impressed with the interview and how easy it was to communicate with the interviewer.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
One thing they asked me was why I wanted to work at the company and what I could bring to the table.
