I was contacted by the recruiter who arranged the interview with the hiring manager. I met the hiring manager for a lunch interview and he seemed nice and genuine. However I didn't hear back for a while and tried to call and email the recruiter, who never replied. I finally got in touch with her after 2 weeks and she tells me that the position is on hold due to budget issues but they are trying to sort it out. She said she will let me know when the position opens up. My friend at the company spoke to his boss who said the position had been filled by someone. I am disappointed by the unprofessionalism of the recruiter and her choice to lie and give me false hope instead of telling me the truth that they filled the position. Complete waste of my time.
