I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Gusto (Denver, CO) in Oct 2017
Interview
I applied through an employee referral and was contacted by a recruiter after about a week. I first had a phone interview with one of the sales managers, who was great but it was clear he didn't usually do this part of the interview process. After this step, I was asked to come in for an in-person interview that would last 2.5 hours and would be comprised of 4 different interviews.
I spent a lot of time preparing and learning about the company, and the recruiter was wonderful at helping me prepare. There was an assignment to complete before my interview, but I think this is mostly to see if you will follow directions and complete it, as I'm not completely sure anyone read it based on my interviews. The interviews were mostly painless and informative, although it's hard as a candidate to sit in a conference room for more than 2 hours and feel like you're giving off the best version of yourself to the interviewers. For this reason, I would rate the process as negative, since I spent about 10 hours preparing for or interviewing for this role, and don't feel that the structure really benefited me as a candidate.
I didn't get an offer, but was called directly by the recruiter which was nice. I really wanted this job, and was frustrated at the reason I was given for them not moving forward.

Question 1
What makes you interested in Gusto? What excites you about Sales?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Gusto (Denver, CO) in Aug 2019
Interview
Gusto is clear, upfront and exercises great communication. It's the first interview I didn't have to question "what's next"--for a company growing tremendously fast, they are still personal and warm.
Can't express how much I enjoyed the process, especially compared to other interviews in tech sales.
