Group interview w/ about ten other candidates. I was mixed in w/ different positions (cashiers, etc.) We were all given unique hypothetical situations to respond to. Of the ten of us, eight were offered positions, but the two cashiers in the room were offered bagger positions, instead.
Random unique scenario: What would you do if you were stocking a shelf and had to suddenly rush to assist with central checkout and a customer stopped and seemed upset that the item she was looking for wasn't in stock?
3 rounds. First is a panel interview with other candidates. Second is a one-on-one with the department manager, who will show you around the store and department. Third is pretty much a signed off with the managers and UD.
I applied online. I interviewed at H E B (San Antonio, TX) in Mar 2025
Interview
The H-E-B interview process is friendly and straightforward, usually involving a brief phone screening followed by an in-person interview focusing on customer service, availability, and teamwork skills. Just have open availability and you should be good
I applied through other source. I interviewed at H E B (Plano, TX) in Feb 2025
Interview
