      Tax Class/Preparer Interview

      Sep 4, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Jacksonville, FL
      Declined offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at H&R Block (Jacksonville, FL) in Aug 2018

      Interview

Recruiter calls, SELLS you their materials during initial meeting and signs you up for class. The preliminary interview is all about getting you to buy the materials and take the class. I am sure the class is good from the materials I reviewed. During the interview I was not told if hired to prepare taxes I would be expected to sell additional services in the H&R . Once the class started the first thing discussed was the H&R stock price and how important it is to drive revenue and make $. A person who is interested in doing taxes should become an enrolled agent with the IRS and work for a CPA during tax season if they want part time employment after retirement.
